Santa Fe and Snickers

It's been a little while since I've posted, but I was on a fun vacation in Santa Fe with my husband! He had a conference to attend for a few days, and I got to spend the time wandering around the town of Santa Fe. There are a lot of fun shops to go into, and a Church with a "mysterious" staircase that has been featured on Unsolved Mysteries!!! There is also a Joann's fabric store in Santa Fe, and since I have no idea if and when our JoAnn's will open back up, we made a side trip to the store so I could stock up on some fabric.

In the meantime, I received pictures of Snickers (my nephew dog) in two of his outfits, and he is one handsome model. Here are a few of the pictures, but I have many more. He seemed to enjoy posing for the pictures quite a bit!

The blue outfit has velcro under the chest and a velcro tab near the bottom, and honestly is probably better for girl dogs:) The Steeleres outfit has tabs that velcro together under the belly, and around the neck/collar.

Now I'm going to start working on making some inventory so I can be ready for craft fairs in the fall, but in the meantime I hope to get some more orders-check out the website at http://www.yourlittlestitch.com/

Have a great day!

New Photos

I recently had a friend of mine Melissa (melissadunstanphotography.com) take some professional photos of the outfits I've created, and they are wonderful! I also had a friend let her daughter be my model, and she is absolutely adorable. A true girl, she allready loves trying on clothes, and had lots of fun modeling for us. She loves to laugh, and had a fun time pretending to sleep on piles of extra fabric. She was also very interested in the cats, and we kept following her around as she searched for them around the house:) Here are a few of my favorite pics. You can find all of them on my facebook group page yourlittlestitch, so be sure to join!! You can also find more images on my website http://yourlittlestitch.com/outfits_new.html All of these outfits are available to order on the site.

Thank you Melissa, Tamara, and Kiley for all your help!!!

Cutting away...

It's been a little while, but boy have I been busy!! I've updated my website http://www.yourlittlestitch.com/, and my etsy shop, also yourlittlestitch. On top of working at Eddie Bauer, I've managed to make four more outfits, and cut out ten yesterday. A few more sample outfits to make, and then I'm going to start making groups of outfits in different sizes to start getting prepared for craft fairs in the summer and fall.

I must say it is sometimes tempting to try a small outfit on the cats, but then as I think about it, the outcome could be not so pretty-I would come away with several battle wounds and cats with more attitude than usual. The idea is kinda funny though:)

If you would like to see more pictures of outfits I've created, you can visit my website http://www.yourlittlestitch.com/ or join the group YourLittleStitch on facebook. I hope to soon have a slideshow available, so stay tuned!

A Few More!

Here we go, 3 more dog outfit samples are done!!! First pictured is a dog coat that has velcro under the neck and tabs under the chest that velcro together. This outfit I modified a bit from the original pattern. Originally the wrong sides were supposed to be sewn together (so the right side was allready face out), and then the edges encased in bias tape all around. I chose to sew wrong sides together, leaving openings for the tabs and collars, and one opening in the bottom in order to turn it right side out. After I attached the tabs and collars and turned it right side out, I topstitched all around the edges of the outfit, the collar, and the tabs, closing up all holes and turning in raw edges.

The next outfit is a pullover that has ribknit material for the collar, arm bands, and hem band. I first was going to try using the fleece material for the collar, arm bands, and hem band, and soon learned it is not stretchy enough to fit these openings. The rib knit makes a HUGE difference!! It also makes it easier to slide right over your dogs front legs and head.

The last sample of the day is a dog vest the has a fold back collar. To me the collar almost ends up looking like a polo collar, which I love! Just seems to add a little more style for all those stylish doggies out there! This outfit, along with the Steelers dog coat, was made for my "nephew" dog, and I look forward to posting some pictures of him looking handsome in these outfits.

So...now these four outfits (these 3 and the one from the previous post) are officially for sale on my website yourlittlestitch.com-tell your friends and check it out!

First Dog Outfit:)

So I have finished the first of many dog outfits! This is one of six outfits I'm going to have available on my website, hopefully everything will be up on the site by the end of this week. Making dog clothes is truly alot of fun. Dogs are of course adorable (just don't tell my cats I said so!), and making outfits for them to make them more adorable is quite enjoyable. This outfit has a collar that folds back, fringe around the outside, and a band on the bottom that is velcroed together. I embroidered the name of the special doggy it is going to on the back. I'm also going to specialize in NFL, MLB, NBA, and NCAA team fleece, just as I do with the baby clothing. If you see an outfit featured here and either like it alot, or don't like it at all, please let me know!! Any suggestions are gladly accepted. More pics to come soon.

Missing JoAnn's

Awhile ago our JoAnn Fabrics store roof collapsed, leaving all us crafters withour our fabric store! There is a Wal-Mart, thank goodness, it just has a much smaller selection. I went to purchase tubular rib knit fabric for the sample dog outfit, and lo and behold Wal-Mart does not have it:( I've ordered some, but for a few days the dog outfits are on hold until the rib knit shows up, and then sewing shall commence!! In the meantime I can cut out a few more outfits for other dogs, and I have a several groups of outfits (overalls and jumpsuits) for babies to finish up for craft fairs in the fall. Fingers are crossed that the JoAnn's will re-open, with a new and improved roof!!!

My First Blog, EVER!

Well this is an exciting day for me! I have been wanting to start a blog and have finally sat down and set it up. Mostly I plan on blogging about my business, sewing baby, toddler, and dog clothing from fleece. I started this business a little over a year ago, and am excited to share it with everyone. My nephew and niece have been my inspiration and models for several of the outfits. Of course they are the cutest kids ever:) (in my opinion)

Last year I worked hard on getting 45 outfits done for craft fairs in the fall, and I did it! I sold several of the outfits and took several orders for others, so all in all I consider it a success:)

I have recenlty expanded into making dog clothing too. I just cut out the first outfit yesterday, and plan on sewing it together today or tomorrow! I'm super excited about expanding the business into dogwear. My first outfit is a Virginia Tech fleece pullover for my friend Michelle and her dog Roxy. Hopefully I'll get some pics soon so everyone can see!
